TRAINING
Training for Health Science Students
In order to contribute to the training of future health care workers (from Quebec and elsewhere), the JAP Clinic offers psychiatric rehabilitation internships for severe mental disorders (psychotic illnesses) to students in occupational therapy, nursing, social work as well as medical students (clerkship) and postgraduate doctors (specialization in psychiatry).
Research training (graduate studies and summer internships for health sciences students)
The JAP Clinic also welcomes research students at the master's and doctoral levels, for example in biomedical sciences (psychiatry option), psychology, kinesiology, etc. It also offers introductory research internships to students in medicine and health sciences.
Training offered to health professionals or mental health teams wishing to implement an early intervention program
The JAP Clinic offers observation internships to mental health professionals or psychiatrists who wish to set up an early intervention service.
It also offers training on early intervention for psychosis lasting from one to five days, including the organization and implementation of an early and intensive intervention program for psychosis, group therapeutic interventions (including psychoeducation) and case management adapted to the clientele of young adults with psychosis, individual or group cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy, integrated intervention for substance abuse among this clientele, integrated vocational intervention, family interventions, intervention with "more difficult" clienteles, e.g., homeless, comorbidities, etc.
The trainings can be adapted to the needs of the clients and take place at the JAP Clinic or in the environment that develops the program. Case discussions, direct supervision with occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, psychiatrists can also be organized in this context.
One to four days of individual cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy training for psychosis is offered, as well as supervision of psychotherapies.

◦ l’efficacité des traitements psychosociaux et pharmacologiques.
